Job summary

Winchester City Council seeks a Transport Planner to provide expert transport planning advice for major developments and strategic projects. You will supervise the Park & Ride service, work with bus operators, inspect sites, manage budgets, and lead tendering for the next operating contract.

You will contribute to transport policies and strategies, support local plans, and collaborate with engineers and external partners to promote low carbon and sustainable transport across the Winchester

Qualifications

• Degree qualification in an appropriate discipline.
• Confident, proactive and able to work independently.
• Skilled in transport planning, policy and partnership working.

Responsibilities

• Provide transport policy advice for major development areas.
• Liaise with Hampshire County Council on transport proposals and policy matters.
• Represent the council at public meetings and with stakeholders.
• Monitor policy effectiveness and recommend changes where needed.
• Supervise Winchester’s Park & Ride service and oversee procurement contracts.
