Job summary

Dillon Consulting Limited’s Integrated Mobility Services discipline seeks a Junior/Intermediate Transportation Planner/Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in one of Dillon’s Ontario or Vancouver offices. You will contribute to traffic engineering, transit planning, and multi-modal projects, serving government and private sector clients with sustainable transportation solutions.

Qualifications

• A degree in urban planning, civil engineering or equivalent; a Master’s Degree would be an asset.
• Two (2) to six (6) years of professional experience.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, including some basic programming skills. Proficiency working with Python is an asset.
• Demonstrated abilities in multidisciplinary project teamwork and coordination.
• Well-developed report writing, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated abilities in use of GIS software (ArcView GIS) or traffic modeling software (e.g., Synchro, SimTraffic, VISSIM) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a variety of traffic engineering/operations studies or transit planning and strategic multi-modal transportation planning projects, such as policy development, demand forecasting, master plans, corridor studies, traffic impact assessments (TIAs), rapid transit and transit priority, accessibility and station / hub studies.
• Project coordination and team leadership for various projects and clients. Complete projects and team activities related to traffic, transit or multi-modal transportation planning and engineering projects across the country.
• Write proposals and support other marketing and administrative efforts.
• Attend meetings and liaise with various private and public sector clients and sub-consultants.
• Travel as required to support project needs.
