Job summary

The City of Richmond is seeking a Manager, Transportation Development & Design to lead planning, design and policy for road infrastructure in a dynamic urban environment. You will guide studies, embrace cross‑functional collaboration and help shape transportation outcomes.

Reporting to the Director, Transportation, you will deliver transportation studies, coordinate with external agencies, supervise traffic impact analyses and help shape the five‑year capital plan.

Qualifications

• Degree in Applied Science (Civil Engineering) or related field with 5 years of transportation/traffic experience.
• P.Eng designation with Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence for BC.
• Minimum 2 years municipal experience preferred.
• PTOE designation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planning and functional design of road infrastructure.
• Design traffic and parking improvements.
• Review and supervise traffic impact studies for developments and zoning changes.
• Propose mitigation strategies to reduce transportation issues.
• Coordinate meetings with other departments and external agencies.
• Support policy development related to transportation and parking.
• Prepare staff reports and present at Committee and Council meetings.
