Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and pleasant riding experience for all customers, with a focus on customer service.
  • Monitor customers and other motorists, exercising tact and diplomacy.
  • Safely operate CMBC Transit Vehicles in all weather and traffic conditions, adhering to schedules.
  • Work independently without direct supervision, maintaining radio communications with dispatch, and using Automatic Vehicle Location Systems.
  • Drive various vehicles across the city, interacting directly with the public and handling daily challenges in an autonomous work environment.
Qualifications
  • Canadian citizenship or Permanent Residency.
  • Minimum Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence or Canadian equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain a Class 2 BC Commercial Learner’s Licence with air brake endorsement, valid for at least six months.
  • No more than one violation in the past three years, with specific points limitations, and no recent suspensions or prohibitions.
  • No more than one at-fault accident in the past three years.
  • Strong command of English for effective communication.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and customer service experience.
  • Ability to provide two employer references, including one from current employer.
  • Availability to work any shift at any depot.
  • Subject to criminal record and vulnerable sector checks.
Additional Information

Applicants must demonstrate their qualifications through a standard interview process, including scenario and behavioral questions. If your BC license was issued for less than 5 years and you previously held a license from another jurisdiction, provide your previous driving record.

Basic computer skills are required, and only one application per candidate will be considered.

Work Schedule

37.5 hours per week.

Rate of Pay

Starting at $29.20, up to $41.72.
