Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. seeks a Technical Director to lead the Urban Transportation Solutions group in Canada.

You will guide technical discipline, design strategy, and integration across multidisciplinary teams to ensure design readiness, safety, and successful delivery of major transit projects. Qualifications

15+ years of progressive experience in technical leadership on transit or major infrastructure programs.
Experience leading design management and technical governance in collaborative delivery models.
Strong knowledge of BIM, digital delivery, and design standards.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical and design function across multi-disciplinary teams.
Manage design service agreements, scope, schedule, and quality.
Oversee gated design progression from concept to as-built.
Provide technical leadership during construction, commissioning, and handover.
Embed assurance, RAMS, hazard management, and safety obligations into design development.
Coordinate with owners, regulators, and JV partners to ensure alignment and approvals.
