Job summary

Metrolinx in Toronto, Ontario is seeking a Manager, Project Delivery for its Capital Projects Group to lead the design of capital railway transit infrastructure and oversee design development through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover.

The role requires coordinating multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid-matrix environment, managing design deliverables, scope, costs, schedules and safety, and guiding project performance to ensure successful handover of complex rail projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in project management and in the planning, design, construction, commissioning or handover of buildings, tunnels, bridges, railway track or structures is an asset.
• Construction project experience involving collaboration with contractors, engineers, architects and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

• Oversee project scope through definition, design, construction, commissioning and close-out, in alignment with approved objectives, budgets and delivery principles.
• Lead, coach and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams and technical contributors in a hybrid-matrix environment.
• Coordinate design deliverables and work with internal teams, alliance partners, contractors and external stakeholders to resolve design issues and manage changes, schedules, cost, quality and safety.
• Support project delivery in live rail corridors, including access planning and track protection.
• Monitor contract obligations and project performance, initiating corrective action or escalation when needed.
