Job summary

Ledcor is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for a major transit project in Markham, Ontario. The role requires a strong mix of civil infrastructure and building construction experience, preferably on transit stations, rail, LRT or subway projects.

You will support the Superintendent across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical scopes, coordinating subcontractors and maintaining schedule and safety targets.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of construction experience integrating civil infrastructure and building work.
• Experience as Field Coordinator, Assistant Superintendent, or Superintendent.
• Transit station/rail/major infrastructure project experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day management of site construction on a complex transit station project.
• Coordinate civil activities including earthworks, drainage, watermain, and utilities.
• Support coordination of structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical scopes.
• Lead daily foreman coordination meetings and align crews and subcontractors.
• Monitor productivity, quantities, labour, equipment, and schedule progress.
• Develop three-week look-ahead schedules and resolve workflow constraints.
• Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, and staging to minimize disruptions.
• Ensure work complies with drawings, specs, schedules and methods.
• Promote and enforce safety culture and procedures; lead safety meetings.
