Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• If hired after January 6, 2014, must enroll within four years and obtain a BSN within seven years of employment.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina; BLS for Healthcare Provider certification.
• One (1) year of nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families; uses education materials relevant to patient population.
• Evaluates care with interdisciplinary team; revises plan of care as needed; supports continuity of care.
• Implements care for patients with complex problems; performs bedside point-of-care testing as required.
• Leads in developing goals to promote professional growth and unit performance; supports cost-effective care.
• Plans care with patient/family; collaborates with multidisciplinary resources; assesses discharge planning needs.
• Participates in evaluating outcomes and research ideas for practice improvement.
