Social Services Department – Long Term Care Division

Work Location: Whitby, Ontario

Salary: $79,195 to $98,994 per annum

Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Training Supervisor to join our team in the Long-Term Care and Services for Seniors Division.

As a Training Supervisor, you will:

  • Oversee the design, development, and evaluation of educational modules and initiatives.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the Training Specialists and ensure the Training Specialists meet program goals, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Ensure education and practice manuals reflect current regulations and best practices in a fast-paced LTC environment.
  • Supervise the development and implementation of training programs tailored to meet the specific needs of long-term care staff and ministry regulations.
  • Ensure that the training specialists and subject matter experts maintain current educational materials
  • Collaborate with department managers and staff to enhance skills, improve resident care, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and report on all aspects of training programs, including data collection, analysis, and communication with system partners.
  • Maintain professional practice and technical skills through ongoing education
  • Act as a technical knowledge resource, including providing expert advice, fostering communication, and implementing best practices in customer service
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Align training initiatives with the division's strategic objectives and contribute to the overall success of the organization.
  • Work in accordance with the provisions of applicable health and safety legislation and all corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to occupational health and safety

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in education, Health or Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in training and staff development, preferably within long-term care or healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of LTC regulations and training requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, Interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing training projects.

Conditions of Employment

The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check dated within two (2) months from date of hire. Additionally, tuberculosis screening will be required in accordance with the FLTC Act (O.Reg. 246/22). Proof of education, qualifications and any other job bona fide requirements will also be collected.
