About the Role

The Training Specialist is responsible for delivering claim adjudication and disability claim management training to new and existing disability claims staff. The role involves developing and maintaining training programs and claims unit procedures in adherence to policy provisions, legislative changes, and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Providing training to claims staff on Group and Individual disability claims, rehabilitation, and early intervention services.
  2. Educating and coaching staff on claims management, processes, and problem-solving practices.
  3. Providing tools and techniques to support effective claim adjudication and understanding of external services.
  4. Developing and updating structured training programs for various product lines.
  5. Reviewing and updating claim procedures as needed.
  6. Supporting staff in understanding procedural changes and initiatives.
  7. Maintaining training documentation and reports.
  8. Performing quality assurance audits on claims processes.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Post-secondary diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years of experience as a disability case manager or claims examiner.
  • Experience in developing and delivering adult learning programs.
  • Certifications in medical terminology, claims, or related fields are assets.
  • Degree in adult education is an asset.
