Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain, and evaluate training resources, forms, and e-learning content.
  • Create engaging, accessible digital learning content for partners, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Coordinate content reviews, translations, testing, and publishing requirements.
  • Lead content-related project design, requirements, documentation, testing, and rollout.
  • Analyze processes to identify bottlenecks and implement improvements for efficiency and risk reduction.
  • Develop tactical plans and business cases aligning with training priorities and change goals.
  • Keep intranet content current and easy to navigate for stakeholders.
  • Utilize Articulate 360, InDesign, Snagit, Visio, and MS 365 to create and update materials.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accessibility, and risk management standards.
  • Document content management processes and support audits and updates.
  • Collaborate with compliance and risk teams to identify gaps and improve awareness.
  • Partner with leadership and cross-functional teams to align training with business needs.
  • Contribute to team discussions, set timelines, and maintain quality standards.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure progress and improve outcomes.
  • Provide coaching and guidance as a working lead for one or more reports.

The opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Training & Development, the Training & Development Lead is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and evaluating training content, resources, and digital learning assets that support business priorities, advisor experience, and operational effectiveness.

This role supports the Training & Development team by leading content-related projects, improving development processes, supporting change initiatives, and ensuring resources align with approved workflows, regulatory requirements, accessibility expectations, and departmental standards. As a working lead with supervisory responsibility for one or more direct reports, the Training & Development Lead balances hands-on content development and project delivery with coaching, prioritization support, day-to-day oversight, performance input, and capability development to support consistent delivery of high-quality training solutions.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Designing, developing, maintaining, and evaluating training resources, forms, job aids, e-learning, video tutorials, and related content using ADDIE and other approved frameworks.
  • Creating engaging, timely, accessible, and easy-to-use digital learning content that supports partners, stakeholders, advisors, and internal teams.
  • Coordinating content review, approvals, translation, testing, documentation, and publishing requirements before materials are released.
  • Leading content-related project design and development activities, including workflow analysis, requirements gathering, approvals, documentation, testing, implementation, and communication planning.
  • Analyzing existing processes, identify bottlenecks, recommend practical improvements, and support efficiency, cost savings, risk mitigation, and continuity of service.
  • Developing tactical plans and business cases that support Training & Development strategic priorities and change management objectives.
  • Maintaining and improving intranet content and site navigation to ensure resources are current, accessible, and easy for partners and stakeholders to find.
  • Using digital tools such as Articulate 360, Adobe InDesign, Snagit, Visio, and Microsoft 365 applications to create, update, and improve training and communication materials.
  • Ensuring training materials, forms, toolkits, and resources support regulatory, legislative, compliance, accessibility, and risk-management requirements.
  • Maintaining process documentation related to content management activities and support audits, reviews, and updates to reduce the risk of outdated or inaccurate information.
  • Collaborating with compliance and risk-management partners to identify gaps and strengthen awareness across teams.
  • Partnering with Training & Development leadership, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional project teams to understand business processes, define success measures, and align training solutions to business needs.
  • Contributing to team meetings, project discussions, and change initiatives with a focus on advisor experience, clear communication, accountability to timelines, and quality standards.
  • Collecting, analyzing, and using relevant data to measure progress, evaluate effectiveness, and identify opportunities to improve training content, processes, tools, and outcomes.
  • Act as a working lead with supervisory responsibility by balancing hands-on delivery with day-to-day oversight, coaching, prioritization support, performance input, and subject-matter guidance for direct reports.
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Proficiency with Articulate 360 and Adobe InDesign; experience with forms development, accessible document design, and digital learning tools is considered an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in business, adult education, instructional design, communications, document design, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in content development in the finance sector, or other regulatory environment.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in delivering training on various subjects.
  • Experience in instructional design and development, including blended learning solutions, digital content creation, and rapid development methodologies, is considered an asset.
  • Experience in design and development of written training materials, manuals, guidebooks, job aids, etc.
  • Proficiency with the MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Experience using online meeting platforms such as Teams and Learning Management Systems.
  • A high level of accountability, adaptability, and innovation in achieving both day-to-day responsibilities and long-term goals.

Range $68,000 - $85,000 annually.

This range represents Wellington-Altus' expected range of compensation for this position. Actual compensation will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.

Wellington-Altus' total compensation package for employees may also include discretionary bonuses as well as other perks and rewards. Wellington-Altus also offers health insurance, accident and life insurance, and other unique benefits per location.
