Responsibilities

• Ensure transportation and Customer Service activities are performed safely, promptly, and courteously.

• Report accidents, derailments or disruptions and coordinate with Bombardier Transportation and host railway.
• Monitor performance of locomotive engineers and train operators and address deviations from the operating plan.
• Assess train reports for on-time performance and liaise with host railways and operating officers.

We seek a passionate Train Operations Supervisor to ensure that train movements are operated on time, safely, efficiently and economically over the entire transit system consistent with our customer and Alstom mission of providing excellent Customer Service

Your Role, Your Impact

• Ensure that all transportation and Customer Service activities are performed safely, promptly while providing a courteous service to clients in accordance with corporate policies, practices, government regulations, Canadian Rail Operating Rules and special instructions.
• Coordinate, direct and supervise locomotive engineers and train operators through the application of a high level of technical and managerial skills related to Customer service delivery and the safe operation of trains and the provision of a quality service in accordance with the advertised train schedules;
• Report all accidents, derailments or disruptions assuming the senior role coordinating all Bombardier Transportation and Equipment Maintenance activities with the host railway to minimize adverse effects to passengers while ensuring an expeditious return to normal operations. Investigate customer complaints, accidents, injuries, rule violations and other staff failures.
• Monitor and undertake action to ensure performance of locomotive engineers and train operators on board trains;
• Asses train reports for on-time performance and Interface regularly with host railways rail traffic control centers as well as host railway operating officers to ensure coordination and daily performance of train operations and to immediately respond and correct deviations to the operating plan;

What You Bring

• A high school diploma or equivalent, combined with rail operations experience is required.
• Railway operations experience is essential
• Locomotive Engineer Certification with Rules Qualification and Canadian Rail Operating Rules (CROR) certification.
• Cumulate minimum five (5) years of experience in the rail industry as either locomotive Engineer, Train Operator, Supervisor, Trainmaster; in addition you have relevant experience in train crew management
• Bilingual in French and English, with the ability to work and communicate fully in French as the primary language of operations.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate, and develop frontline operational teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP.
• Ability to work a rotating schedule, including early morning, afternoon, evening, and overnight shifts.
• Able to commit to a fixed-term role through June 2027
