Job summary

TEN Canada Ltd. in Mississauga is seeking a Trailer Technician to inspect, service and repair trailers at our Mississauga branch. You’ll perform routine maintenance, diagnose issues, and replace components, including brakes, tires and electrical systems, while adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Truck-Trailer Service Technician (310J) or Licensed Truck and Coach Technician (310T).
  • Experience as Trailer Service Technician or similar roles.
  • Knowledge of trailer electrical, suspension, braking, and structural components.
  • Fabrication, welding and tailgate repairs are a plus.
  • Team player with good written and verbal communication.
  • Lift up to 85 pounds safely.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify maintenance or repair needs.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, component replacement, brake and suspension adjustments.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot trailer issues using diagnostic tools.
  • Repair or replace damaged trailer parts including electrical systems, tires, brakes, lights, couplers, and axles.
  • Perform welding, fabrication and bodywork repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure safety regulations and standards are followed during all procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used and labor hours.

As a Trailer Technician at our Mississauga branch, you’ll be performing the following duties:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of trailers to identify any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating moving parts, replacing worn-out components, and adjusting brakes and suspension systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot trailer issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques.
  • Repair or replace damaged or faulty trailer parts, including electrical systems, tires, brakes, lights, couplers, and axles.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, and bodywork repairs as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards throughout all repair and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including parts used and labor hours.

To be successful you’ll need to have the following skills and abilities:

  • Licensed Truck-Trailer Service Technician (310J) or Licensed Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
  • Proven experience as a Trailer Service Technician or similar role.
  • Knowledge of trailer systems, including electrical, suspension, braking, and structural components.
  • Experience in fabrication, welding and/or tailgate repairs (considered an asset).
  • Be a collaborative team player with good written and oral communication.
  • Safely able to lift up to 85 pounds.
