Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Traffic Signal Designer to support Kingston, ON projects. You will prepare design drawings, specifications, and reports, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless system integration and regulatory compliance.

The role requires 3-5+ years of experience in traffic signal and electrical design, strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, and proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Civil Engineering or related technology.
• 3-5+ years of progressive experience in traffic signal, roadway, and electrical design.
• 3 years of direct traffic signal design experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
• Experience applying OTM Book 12, OPSD, and OPSS standards.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience preparing engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for multidisciplinary work.
• Mentoring junior engineers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and develop traffic signal design docs, drawings, specs and reports.
• Conduct electrical design activities for traffic signal installations and roadway systems.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for effective system integration.
• Review designs and support QA to ensure standards compliance.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical input.
• Support field reviews and inspections to verify design implementation.
• Contribute to technical reporting and documentation throughout projects.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and share knowledge.
