Job summary

Egis Canada is hiring an Electrical Traffic Signal Designer to support design, development, and implementation of traffic signal projects. You will prepare drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with Canadian standards, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable signal solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or college-level qualification in electrical or civil engineering.
• 3-5+ years in traffic signal, roadway and electrical design.
• Direct traffic signal design experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and transportation standards (OTM BOOK 12, OPSD, OPSS).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for infrastructure projects.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with internal teams and clients.
• Strong project management skills with ability to lead and mentor teams.
• Knowledge of sustainability and energy-efficient design practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement electrical systems for infrastructure projects, including traffic signals.
• Develop and maintain design documentation, specifications, and reports.
• Collaborate with civil engineers and multidisciplinary teams for integration.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and design teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Participate in client and project meetings to provide input.
• Contribute to standards and templates development for the Electrical department.
