Job description

STV, a nationally recognized leader for delivering value and excellence in engineering, construction management, architecture, planning, and environmental services, is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our growing transportation engineering team in our New York, NY office.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform Traffic Engineering Studies and Designs.
2. Design traffic signals for NYDOT and/or NJDOT.
3. Conduct transportation engineering and traffic planning studies.
4. Perform traffic simulation analysis using VISSIM and Synchro/SimTraffic software, and operational analysis using HCS.
5. Write and review traffic impact studies and analysis reports.
6. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide traffic inputs for environmental studies and roadway design elements such as signing, pavement marking, MPT plans, Design Approval Documents, and traffic signal operation analyses.
7. Coordinate with DOT and local agencies.
8. Assist in public information meetings.
9. Support the preparation of technical proposals and business development activities.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
2. EIT registration.
3. Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, AutoTurn is desirable.
4. Thorough understanding of HCS, VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic software is preferred.
5. Experience related to traffic safety (vehicle, pedestrian, bicycle), roadside/intersection safety, crash data analysis, and development of crash countermeasures.
6. Successful experience in meeting scope, schedules, and budgets on transportation projects/studies.
7. Good oral and written communication skills.
8. Ability to perform essential job functions in a safe and alert manner.

Compensation Range: $66,768.17 - $89,024.22
