Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies in Canada is seeking a Transportation Coordinator to manage day-to-day traffic booking, negotiate with carriers, and coordinate load quoting for parts, whole goods, and attachments. You will work with ERP and a Transport Management System, ensure timely pickup and delivery, monitor carrier performance, and resolve AP issues related to carrier invoices.

A post-secondary business education and strong Excel/Office skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant transportation experience.
  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration or similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in ERP systems.
  • Experience with a TMS is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for day-to-day traffic booking activities.
  • Negotiate effectively with carriers to obtain best value.
  • Manage load quoting, coordinating, and tracking of transportation for parts, wholegoods and attachments.
  • Produce purchase orders from requests and schedules to ensure timely pickup and delivery.
  • Maintain and monitor carrier performance.
  • Resolve Accounts Payable issues related to carrier invoices.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Responsible for day-to-day traffic booking activities
  • Negotiate effectively with carriers to obtain best value.
  • Manage the load quoting, coordinating, and tracking of transportation and logistics function for parts, wholegoods and attachments
  • Produce purchase orders from requests/requisitions/ analysis of shipping schedules to ensure timely pickup and delivery activities. Coordinate with manufacturing to eliminate demurrage and delays.
  • Maintain and monitor carrier performance
  • Resolve Accounts Payable issues as applied to carrier invoices and provide invoice G/L coding when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
What We Look For
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant transportation experience.
  • Post-Secondary education in Business Administration or similar discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in ERP systems.
  • Experience with a TMS (Transport Management System) is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Must be a team player
  • Knowledge of MS Office software, esp. Excel, Word, PowerPoint
