Job summary

Intact Specialty Solutions in Ottawa is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our Trade Credit team. You will support brokers, clients and prospects via application support and policy coordination.

You will assist underwriters to deliver quality service, ensure data integrity and manage records for performance metrics. The role requires strong organization, communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced insurance environment.

Qualifications

• College Diploma or University Degree in Business or Finance; combination of education and relevant work experience acceptable.
• Minimum 3 years of varied experience with external customers as an administrator, coordinator or office manager.
• Good oral and written communication skills and team spirit.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Can make decisions and work independently.
• Strong organizational skills to manage workflow efficiently without continuous supervision.
• Computer literacy with Microsoft software knowledge.
• Can multitask and meet tight deadlines.
• Bilingualism (Eng/Fr) is an asset.
• No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for data integrity of policy documents and assists Underwriters with data quality.
• Follows up with customers, banks and brokers for signed documents required pertaining to the policy.
• Identifies and assigns incoming inquiries to appropriate individuals.
• Understands the needs and requirements of internal and external clients and interacts with them as required.
• Provides research and performs various supportive tasks for Underwriters to improve efficiency of project, new signing and client onboarding activities.
• Create and maintain records to ensure that team performance metrics can be easily tracked.
