Job summary

A leading engineering services firm in Toronto is seeking a Trackwork Engineer to develop creative designs while ensuring safety and operational flexibility. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Civil Engineering, hold professional registration with PEO, and have 5-10 years of experience. Key responsibilities include preparing track alignment drawings and providing construction support. Qualifications

• Minimum 5-10 years experience in a relevant field.
• Familiar with relevant standards (AREMA, EN, TCRP, etc.).
• Experience in providing construction support services.
• Solution-oriented and a team player, able to manage multiple projects.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley RailTrack is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop designs and solutions while maintaining safety and operational flexibility.
• Prepare and model track alignment and profile drawings.
• Provide construction support services including shop drawing reviews.
• Analyze ride quality and safety against derailment.
• Perform occasional field engineering services.

Your role

• Demonstrate creativity and innovation in the development of designs and solutions while maintaining safety and balancing operational flexibility, reliability and whole-life cost.
• Prepare and model track alignment & profile drawings, trackplan schematics, trackwork specifications, and yard and maintenance facility general layouts, cross sections and details.
• Interface with multi-discipline teams, client and owner's'engineers
• Provide construction support services including shop drawing reviews, RFIs, Non-conformance reports, as-built survey analysis. etc.
• Perform analysis for ride quality and safety against derailment.
• Perform occasional field engineering services.

About You

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Registration with PEO.
• Minimum 5-10 years experience.
• Familiar with relevant standards (AREMA, EN, TCRP, etc.).
• Solution-oriented, team player, resourceful.
• Able to handle multiple scopes on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley RailTrack would be an asset.
