Could you be the Track / OCS Supervisor (Eglinton LRT) in Eglinton we’re looking for? Full‑time, 12‑month fixed‑term role

Your future role

Supervision of the Track & Overhead Catenary System (OCS) maintenance team. Planning, coordination, and oversight of all maintenance functions related to the track and OCS infrastructure networks. We’ll look to you for:

  • Effectively contribute to the safety, availability, and reliability of the track and overhead catenary system and all associated subsystems and components, such as track switches and heaters, track geometry, noise & vibration mitigation, OCS contact wire, messenger and span wires, auto tensioners, and OCS geometry.
  • Organizing and controlling the provision of maintenance service vehicles, access to track level, materials, tools, equipment, training, manuals, and procedures for the Track / OCS maintenance team.
  • Planning, coordinating, and assignment of all maintenance functions using the GSI (SAP‑driven) MMIS. Direct oversight and auditing of work performed by the Track / OCS technicians.
  • Developing and implementing techniques and procedures to ensure all maintenance functions are conducted safely, reliably, and efficiently.
  • Assessment, classification, and identification of the appropriate mitigation actions for system and component failures and emergency incident response within established guidelines.
  • Coaching personnel on job‑related tasks.
  • Understanding preventative maintenance programs and corrective maintenance.
  • Conduct safety audits.
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate staff; conduct performance reviews and enforce discipline.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (APTA, FRA, IEEE, etc.) and internal policies.
  • Conduct work area inspections to maintain cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify wear, misalignments, and potential failures.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs for compliance and audit purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
Qualifications & Functional Knowledge
Education

Track or OCS technologies. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

Relevant Experience Required

Minimum of three years of experience in track or OCS maintenance or construction.

Specialized or Cross‑Functional Knowledge / Relevant Experience Required For the Position/Role
  • Knowledge or the ability to rapidly attain a thorough knowledge of operations and maintenance rules, plans, procedures and instructions and relevant technical information.
  • Strong leadership skills; Ability to lead and manage a diverse team of maintenance personnel and functions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain a good rapport with employees and other personnel, and the ability to deal courteously and effectively with others.
  • Road vehicle G‑class driver’s license.
