Job summary

Siemens Mobility Canada seeks a Track Welder to perform corrective and preventive welding on rail infrastructure in the GTA. Reporting to the Track Supervisor, you will lead safety practices, supervise the Assistant Track Welder, and support emergency response and inspections.

Responsibilities include welding carbon steel and manganese components, rail end welding, thermite welding, winter switch work, and maintenance of equipment.

Qualifications

  • Must hold Ontario G-class driver's license.
  • Certified in railway thermite welding.
  • Completed railway track welding program through Class 1 railway or equivalent.
  • Completion of welding training in Ontario.
  • Track Inspection Guidelines (TIG) program.
  • TDG certification is a plus.
  • Rail defect identification training is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Siemens safety culture and ensure standards compliance.
  • Be an ambassador of Siemens when interacting with customers and suppliers.
  • Report accidents/incidents and participate in investigations.
  • Supervise and develop the Assistant Track Welder for quality and safety.
  • Perform track welding and repairs to standards; coordinate related activities.
  • Support rail flaw testing and winter maintenance on switches.
  • Complete work reports and manage equipment safely.
