Job summary

BTY Group in Toronto is seeking an Associate Director (Estimator/Quantity Surveyor) to lead cost management for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects. You will prepare detailed cost estimates, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with clients and teams across the firm.

The role requires 8–12+ years of experience, MRICS/PQS are preferred, and proficiency with CostX, Planswift, and MS Office. This is a full-time in-office Toronto position with competitive rewards.

Qualifications

• 8 to 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years mentoring and team leadership.
• University degree in Architecture Building Technology, Estimating, QS, Finance, Construction Engineering or Project Management.
• Qualified PQS and/or MRICS preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of cost management and construction industry practices.

Responsibilities

• Quantify materials and prepare cost estimates per CIQS Rules of Measurement and related formats.
• Estimate probable costs for materials, labor and equipment based on bids and drawings.
• Attend site inspections to assess cost-to-complete and work-in-place.
• Provide proactive cost management advice and ensure clients understand reports.
• Prepare estimates at design stages from concept to pre-tender.
• Conduct QA/QC of cost management reports.
• Coordinate workload and mentor junior staff; support Director.
• Build and maintain client relationships and promote business opportunities.
