Responsibilities
  1. Machine, fit, and assemble component parts and precision tooling to build special-purpose machinery, robotic work cells, and factory automation projects.
  2. Coordinate activities of Toolmakers and apprentices involved in mechanical build, assembly, and integration to ensure quality, safety, and timeliness.
  3. Set up and operate machine tools like manual lathes and small mills, supporting assembly with machining knowledge.
  4. Manage small to medium projects effectively.
Job Description
Major Duties
  • Perform machining, fitting, and assembly tasks focusing on quality and timeliness.
  • Coordinate team activities as approved by the Group Leader.
  • Operate machine tools and support assembly processes.
  • Handle small to medium projects.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Operate all toolroom equipment proficiently.
  • Apply tolerances, GD&T, and understand assembly functions.
  • Follow directions from management.
  • Track project status and support manufacturing needs.
  • Ensure print updates and floor assembly procedures are followed.
  • Participate in debugging, line integration, and testing activities.
  • Support rework, installation, and customer training.
  • Complete daily site reports and support team development.
Qualifications
  • Certificate of Qualification as a Machine Tool Builder and Integrator or Tool and Die Maker, or equivalent.
  • Completion of apprenticeship and certification in relevant trades.
  • At least two years of hands-on experience in factory automation assembly and integration.
