Job summary

Janicki Industries is seeking a Toolmaker to support on-site manufacturing in Hamilton, WA. The role focuses on turning customer prints into molded tooling and assemblies, aligning parts from raw materials to blueprints with careful inspection and documentation.

You will set up lathes, milling and grinding machines, inspect tolerances, and assemble tooling components. Strong GD&T and machining background are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, college level or trade school education preferred.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Blueprint interpretation including GD&T and shop math.
• Knowledge of the Metric System.
• Manual machining experience on mills, lathes, and grinders.
• Laser tracking experience and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints for tool assembly sequence, details, and assemblies.
• Design and build tooling aids.
• Fix out of tolerance tools or lead the effort.
• Set-up and run lathes, milling and grinding machines to produce details and assemblies.
• Check and inspect all details, assemblies and finished product for conformance to blueprint dimensions.
• Build and assemble tooling components including drill bars, edge bars, and lifting and clamping details.
• Identify molds and tools per customer blueprint and purchase order requirements.
• Plumb and vacuum systems - verify integrity through pressure testing and leak checking.
• Drill clearance holes - drill and tap holes, locate and drill precision holes.
• Work with team to perform all tool making and manufacturing tasks with minimum supervision.
• Communicate with supervisors, program managers, and engineers.

This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.

Department Summary

The Toolmaker position at Janicki will include working with a team to manufacture and build molds and tools based off of customer supplied prints and data. Responsibilities will include machining details and assembling tools and also detailing assemblies from raw material to blueprint requirements. The Toolmaker will need to be able to locate, fit, and assemble manufactured and supplied parts in accordance with customer blueprints and specifications.

• Identify molds and tools per customer blueprint, tool and purchase order requirements using tags, engraving machines, stencils and painting.

• Work with team to perform all tool making and manufacturing tasks with minimum supervision.
• Communicate with supervisors, program managers, and engineers.
• Any additional duties as reasonably assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3)
• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program

Education/Experience

• High School diploma or GED required, college level or trade school education preferred.
• One or more years of experience in related field may be substituted for education.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Blueprint interpretation including GD&T and shop math (decimals, basic trig, tolerances).
• Knowledge of the Metric System.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, fastening, and metrology.
• Knowledge of material types and material processes.
• Manual machining experience (conventional mills, lathes, surface grinders).
• Laser tracking experience (ability to align, collect data, best fit, set details, create reports).

DETAILED WAGE INFORMATION

• Wage range for this role is between $20 - $49 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities.
