The position is on-site in Hamilton, Washington; shift is swing from 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM, Monday–Thursday. Candidates should have manufacturing experience and be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship or lawful permanent resident status due to ITAR/EAR regulations.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance; candidate must agree to Continuous Evaluation.
  • High school diploma or GED; 2-year certificate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience required; experience in composites/fiberglass preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead one or more teams in composite fabrication, infusion, assembly, welding, milling, metrology, ovens or waterjet operations.
  • Ensure quality and quantity of work; train and develop technicians; enforce safety procedures.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and document pass downs and timecards.
  • Support supervisors and engineers; improve quality and efficiency; maintain 5S and Nadcap standards.

Job description

Janicki Industries is an innovative, family-owned aerospace company located at the foot of the Cascades. We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries.

We are looking for a Production Lead to join our growing team.
This position is located on-site in Hamilton, Washington State.
Swing Shift: 3:30 PM to 2:00 AM (Monday - Thursday, four ten hour days)
Position Description

The Production Lead position involves leading one or more teams in the execution of various manufacturing processes such as: composite fabrication, infusion, assembly, welding, mill operations, metrology, ovens, or Waterjet operations. Position is responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed under their charge as well as the training and safety of their crews. Primary responsibility is the completion of assigned shift work, also including assigning and explaining daily tasks to workers; monitoring work progress and compliance with policies and procedures; training and assisting technicians I & II. Production Lead assists supervisors, managers, and engineers with managing the daily workload and troubleshooting technical issues. Production Lead will actively participate in classroom and on-the-job training leading to reasonable advancement in skill level; will work in other areas as assigned.

  • Reads, interprets, and follows pass downs, work orders, isometric drawings, blueprints, work instructions and other technical and non-technical documents.
  • Leads team’s performance and gives direction to others while performing the same manufacturing processes.
  • Organizes work crew with the job overview and layout of work.
  • Provides on the job training to new workers
  • Improves the technicians understanding of the job at hand
  • Builds the technical skills of the team and constantly improves quality and efficiency
  • Accesses Quality Management database for instructions/procedures as needed
  • Reviews Timecards and corrects clock-ins as needed for the assigned crew and reports any issues or problems to Operations Manager/Cell Manager
  • Keeps work orders stamped, dated and organized
  • Enforces Janicki Industries Rules and Safety Practices and keep work areas clean and organized
  • Monitors and records material usage as required
  • Enforces 5S, AS9100 and Nadcap Standards and Practices throughout all work performed
  • Limits and controls use of shop consumables
  • Participates in training, safety and quality programs
  • Must work well under pressure, meeting and completing multiple deadlines.
  • Must be at work on time and maintain good attendance. This is a condition of employment and is an essential function of the job
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.
Education/Experience
  • A two-year technical certificate or bachelor’s degree in a directly related field may be substituted for experience. Minimum requirement for all positions is a high school diploma or GED.
  • One-year manufacturing experience is required.
  • Prior experience in composite or fiberglass fabrication and repair is preferred.
  • Crane and forklift experience preferred
  • Must have the ability to read, understand and follow work orders, written procedures, blueprints, drawings and other technical documents
  • Must have effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Must be willing and able to obtain a government issued security clearance.
Additional Information
  • Wage range for this role is between $20 - $50 an hour plus a discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off-shifts, off-site work, and access pay. The range provided is Janicki’s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on job-related and non-discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
