IMT Corporation is seeking a Tool Setter to ensure proper setup of forming and punch tools on production lines. The role includes installing and aligning drills, blades, dies, and guides, and adjusting machine stops to meet length specs.

You will troubleshoot equipment, maintain clean processes, and record operational data while upholding safety standards. Ideal candidates have strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hand tools, and the ability to read blueprints and production cards.

Formación

• Experience reading blueprints and production cards.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to use tape measures, calipers, and basic measuring tools.
• Experience with hand tools and basic machine setups.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshooting jammed or inoperative presses, clamps, etc.
• Assisting in returning equipment to operation
• Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, shear blades, dies, guides, and holding devices using templates and hand tools.
• Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
• Align layout marks with dies or blades.
• Change worn machine accessories such as cutting tools and brushes using hand tools.
• Record operational data such as pressure readings, lengths of strokes, feed rates, and speeds.
• Instruct other workers in machine setup and operation.
• Follow all safety, quality and environmental policies

Tool Setters are responsible for ensuring that the forming and punch tools and/or controls on a particular machine or process line are set up correctly. The main function is to ensure that all the equipment is set up correctly and that these conditions are maintained to the same standard throughout the production period. This position is also responsible for the setting and changing of tools and dies into production equipment.

Skill/Effort Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Prior experience using various hand tools
• Can read & interpret blue prints and production cards
• Comfort in a heavy industrial environment;
• High attention to detail;
• Ability to read tape measure, calipers, and basic computer skills
• Can prioritize jobs;
• Can communicate effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces
• Record operational data such as pressure readings, lengths of strokes, feed rates, and speeds.
• Operate hand tools, angle & pedestal grinders, mag. drill as required
• Instruct other workers in machine setup and operation.
• Follow all safety, quality and environmental policies
