Job summary

IMT Group is seeking a Tool Setter in Calgary, Alberta to ensure proper setup of forming and punch tools on production lines. You will set up, adjust, and maintain tools and dies, troubleshoot presses, and train others in machine setup and operation.

The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, hand tool experience, blueprint reading, and a detail-oriented approach in a heavy industrial setting. Safety and efficiency are emphasized across all tasks.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and production cards.
• Comfort in heavy industrial environment with high attention to detail.
• Solid math skills and ability to read measuring instruments.
• Ability to prioritize jobs and communicate effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting jammed or inoperative presses, clamps, etc.
• Assisting in returning equipment to operation
• Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, shear blades, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
• Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
• Align layout marks with dies or blades.
• Change worn machine accessories such as cutting tools and brushes, using hand tools.
• Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces
• Record operational data such as pressure readings, lengths of strokes, feed rates, and speeds.
• Operate hand tools, angle & pedestal grinders, mag. drill as required
• Instruct other workers in machine setup and operation.
• Follow all safety, quality and environmental policies
• Other duties as assigned
