IMT Elemental in Calgary, Alberta, is seeking a Tool Setter to ensure that forming and punch tools and controls are correctly set up on production lines. You will be responsible for tool and die changes and maintaining setup standards throughout production shifts.

Join our hands-on team in a heavy industrial environment where attention to detail, safety, and teamwork are essential. You will read blueprints, use measuring tools, and assist in equipment maintenance and process improvements.

• Must read blueprints and production cards.
• Experience with hand tools in heavy industrial settings.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot jammed or inoperative presses, clamps, and related components.
• Assist in returning equipment to operation.
• Select, install, and adjust drills, blades, dies, guides, and holding devices using templates and hand tools.
• Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths per scales or templates.
• Align layout marks with dies or blades.
• Replace worn machine accessories and perform routine maintenance like oiling and cleaning.
• Record operational data such as measurements and speeds.
• Operate hand tools and grinders as required.
• Instruct other workers in machine setup and operation.
• Follow safety, quality, and environmental policies.

Tool Setters are responsible for ensuring that the forming and punch tools and/or controls on a particular machine or process line are set up correctly. The main function is to ensure that all the equipment is set up correctly and that these conditions are maintained to the same standard throughout the production period. This position is also responsible for the setting and changing of tools and dies into production equipment.

Skill/Effort Requirements

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Prior experience using various hand tools
• Can read & interpret blue prints and production cards
• Comfort in a heavy industrial environment;
• High attention to detail;
• Ability to read tape measure, calipers, and basic computer skills
• Can prioritize jobs;
• Can communicate effectively in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting jammed or inoperative presses, clamps, etc.
• Assisting in returning equipment to operation
• Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, shear blades, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
• Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
• Align layout marks with dies or blades.
• Change worn machine accessories such as cutting tools and brushes, using hand tools.
• Perform minor machine maintenance, such as oiling or cleaning machines, dies, or workpieces
• Record operational data such as pressure readings, lengths of strokes, feed rates, and speeds.
• Operate hand tools, angle & pedestal grinders, mag. drill as required
• Instruct other workers in machine setup and operation.
• Follow all safety, quality and environmental policies
