Position Summary: Supporting FAI cell operation by performing activities such as marking/measuring FAI parts, fabricating jigs and fixtures for trimming, drilling, and assembly, and scribing new tools required for operations.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Laminating jigs for grinding, trimming, and assembly processes
  • Repairing jigs and fixtures to produce parts per the print
  • Reading blueprints and manually marking parts as per blueprint
  • Using hand tools such as diamond cutters, belt sanders, die grinders, pistol grip grinders, heat guns, and custom-made tools
  • Performing minor or major repairs of special tools
  • Analyzing parts' dimensions by reading blueprints, drawings, and tolerances
  • Gelcoating and laminating
  • Patching defects with hand-mixed putty and hardener
  • Hand mixing gelcoat and catalyst and spraying
  • Reworking non-conforming production parts

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Grade 12 education
  • Knowledge of blueprints
  • Experience with hand tools (pneumatic, electric, manual)
  • Good math skills such as fractions and unit conversions
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated initiative and sound judgment
  • Organizational and prioritization skills
  • Ability to train others when required
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Proficiency with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
  • Travel may be required between Carfair, MCI, and NFI facilities
