The
Tool Maker is responsible for creating precision-quality product samples, as well as production tools, guides, and holding devices used in the manufacturing process.
Location:
Ingersoll, ON
Responsibilities
- Preparation of product quality samples for testing
- Manufacture, assemble, and maintain tools, dies and fixtures using blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD software
- Operate and maintain machine tools such as lathes, grinders and milling machines
- Inspect tools for quality and precision using measuring instruments
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize tooling solutions
- Response to equipment problems in a timely & customer-oriented manner
- Sound knowledge of all safety standards, policies and procedures
- All other work as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor / or other authorized management persons
Requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to build to print
- Experience with CNC Machines, Lathes, Saws, Mills, Grinders and Heat treat
- Licensed Tool Maker – mandatory
- Good computer skills; Microsoft Outlook
- Proficient at operating lift trucks, hoists and using power
- Able to follow instructions, attention to detail and work within precise limits or standards of accuracy
- Work at heights without fear
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Make decisions based on measurable information

Hours Of Work
Two-week shift rotation; days – 7:30am – 3:30pm; afternoons – 3:30pm – 11:30pm; midnights – 11:30pm – 7:30am. Typical work-week is 40 hours; overtime as required.
