Job description

POSITION: General Labourer

Timber-Tech is looking for skilled Labourers to join their team in Lethbridge. This is a full-time position, with typical hours from 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday. The starting wage ranges from $18.00 to $22.00, depending on experience. A full benefits package is available following a successful probation period. Labourers will perform one or more repetitive jobs on the assembly and pressing line to produce trusses.

REPORTS TO: Lead Hand

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participate in Quality Control and Health & Safety programs.
  • Work safely and maintain a clean work area.
  • Report any unsafe or hazardous conditions.
  • Build trusses that meet quality standards.
  • Follow company health, safety, and quality policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.
  • Interpret shop drawings for truss dimensions and joint & plate placement.
  • Assist in setting or jigging trusses.
  • Move materials to the assembly production area.
  • Insert and clamp chords and webs to tables.
  • Ensure all joints are tight.
  • Position and secure connector plates on joints as per shop drawings.
  • Verify connector plates are of the specified size and type, and correctly positioned.
  • Assist in operating the press for pressing connector plates.
  • Help remove the truss from the jig and transfer it to the exit conveyor.
  • Mark each truss according to shop drawings.
  • Participate in scheduled area inspections using inspection checklists.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
