Job summary

Aramark Canada at Red Deer Polytechnic is seeking a bakery team member to bake donuts, muffins, and pastries for students and staff. You’ll work with high-quality equipment, follow Tim Hortons standards, and take pride in presenting appealing baked goods.

The role is weekday mornings from 6am to 2pm with afternoons free; on-site parking is provided. No evenings or weekends. Prior baking or food service experience is a plus, and we will train the right person.

Qualifications

• Bakery experience preferred; training provided for the right person.
• Knowledge of baking methods, standards, and food safety regulations.
• Required to obtain food safety certification(s).
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills.
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Bake and prepare a variety of foods according to recipes and guidelines.
• Set up workstation with ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, and mixing.
• Operate ovens, stoves, mixers, and related equipment.
• Safely store food and follow safety policies.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Maintain positive customer service and demeanor.
• Follow Aramark safety policies and protect company assets.

It's time to bake new dreams. As an integral member of our Tim Hortons team at Red Deer Polytechnic, you'll be the reason students and staff start their day right ? pulling fresh donuts, muffins, and pastries from the oven before the first class begins. You'll work with top-of-the-line equipment, follow mouth-watering recipes, and take real pride in a case that looks as good as it tastes.

What You'll Do:

• Produce quality baked goods and prepared foods our guests look forward to
• Follow Tim Hortons standards and guidelines for product preparation, along with all operating guidelines for each piece of equipment
• Take direction from your supervisors and managers, and jump in to support your teammates wherever you're needed most
• Have fun while making your guests' day

The details:

This position is weekday mornings from 6am to 2pm? an early start, but you'll have afternoons free with no evenings or weekends. Job Responsibilities

• Bakes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
• Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
• Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
• Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
• Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
• Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
• Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
• Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
• Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
• Ensures security of company assets

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a baker or in a related role preferred
• Proven knowledge of baking methods, standards, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
• Required to obtain food safety certification(s)
• Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
• Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
