Job summary

Northcan Construction LTD is seeking a tile installer to perform on-site tile applications in Edmonton, Canada. You will prepare surfaces, set and align tiles, and ensure strong adhesion and neat finishes at ground level and elevations.

The role requires physical stamina and attention to detail, with duties covering cutting, grouting and tile finishing across various interior surfaces. This position is permanent and on-site only.

Qualifications

• Experience installing ceramic or stone tiles
• Ability to read schematics and measurements
• Physical ability to lift heavy tiles
• Attention to detail and steady hand

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base
• Align and straighten tiles
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
• Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural and floor designs
• Install tile strips
