Job summary

Heritage Masonry & Conservation is seeking an experienced bricklayer for varied masonry projects across residential and commercial sites. The role involves laying bricks and blocks, building veneers, and constructing decorative installations.

Applicants should have 5+ years in masonry, relevant certificates, and the ability to travel as needed. Safety training and the ability to work at heights are important, with duties including mentoring apprentices and handling site-specific layouts.

Qualifications

• Bricklayer trade certification is preferred.
• Occupational Health and Safety Certificate required.
• WHMIS certificate recommended.
• Fall Arrest Protection Training Course desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and lay bricks, concrete blocks, structural tiles or other masonry units.
• Lay bricks, stone or similar materials to provide veneer facing.
• Construct and install prefabricated masonry units.
• Build patios, garden walls and other decorative installations.
• Work at heights on scaffolding or swing stages.
• Cut and trim bricks and blocks with hand/power tools.
• Instruct apprentices.
• Lay bricks to build chimneys and fireplaces for residential or commercial projects.
