Job summary

Delta Stone in Calgary, AB is seeking a tilesetter to install and finish tile surfaces on-site. The role requires measuring, cutting, laying and grouting tiles with attention to detail and quality workmanship.

The position is permanent, full-time on-site with a typical schedule of 32 hours per week at $37.50 per hour. Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience and complete high school education; English language proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• On-site work and physical dexterity required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, measure and mark surfaces to be covered.
• Mix, apply and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue or other adhesives using hand trowel.
• Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to base.
• Align and straighten tiles.
• Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
• Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout.
• Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles.
• Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires and brackets.
• Mix, lay and polish terra surfaces.
