Job summary

The University of Alberta is inviting applications for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. The successful candidate will build a nationally and internationally recognized research program aligned with strategic health research areas.

Focus areas include drug discovery, health services research, and CIHR pillars. Strong emphasis on mentoring, leadership, and collaboration with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• PhD/PharmD/PharmD/MSc/PhD or equivalent doctoral qualification in health research.
• Tenured or tenure-track appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor within FPPS.
• Proven scholarly productivity appropriate to career stage.
• Strong potential for externally funded research.
• Ability to lead collaborative initiatives and teams.
• Excellent communication and mentorship skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead an innovative, internationally recognized research program.
• Secure and maintain competitive external funding.
• Publish a sustained body of scholarly work in high-quality journals.
• Foster interdisciplinary collaboration within the Faculty and with external partners.
• Supervise and mentor graduate students and trainees.
• Contribute to the Faculty's research environment through leadership and service.
