Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in White Rock, BC is seeking a part‑time team member to assist with daily operations, customer service, and donation processing. You will greet customers, price and stock items, and manage sales transactions with care and accuracy.

This role requires the ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 29 lbs, and work a variable schedule including Saturdays. Training on safety policies and OH&S rules is provided.

Qualifications

• Completion of some high school coursework or equivalent.
• Cash handling experience is required.
• Experience with cash registers and related processes (bank deposits, reports) is preferred.
• Experience in a computerized environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet and interact with customers/donors in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Assist in processing donations, pricing, stocking, and store merchandising.
• Handle customer transactions with cash or debit and maintain accuracy.
• Maintain store opening/closing procedures and ensure security of the store.
• Respond to customer enquiries by phone or in person with knowledge of stock and pricing.
• Support inventory control and assist with donation turnover and shelf replenishment.
