Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in St. Thomas is seeking a part-time Thrift Store Clerk to provide friendly customer service, process cash and debit transactions, and help manage donated merchandise. You will assist with pricing, display setup, and maintaining an organized shop floor.

Responsibilities include handling cash and debit sales, greeting customers, answering questions, and supporting inventory control while working with volunteers and store staff. Flexible weekend hours are required.

Qualifications

• Completion of Secondary School.
• Minimum three months of prior related experience.
• Cash handling experience is required.
• Knowledge and experience using a cash register, debit machine and/or credit card processing is a definite asset.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions including cash and debit sales.
• Interact with donors and customers in a friendly manner and respond to enquires.
• Assist with stock handling: sorting, pricing and display of merchandise.
• Unload donations and place stock in appropriate locations and maintain store cleanliness.
