Job summary

Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) seeks a Thrift Assistant Manager in Elmira, Ontario to join the shop's management team. You will supervise staff and volunteers, coach teams, and support day-to-day operations from receiving to retail sales, aiming for strong customer service and sales results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
• 3 to 5 years of related experience with staff supervision in retail, warehouse or similar environments.
• Experience working with volunteers and diverse groups.
• Ability to read and interpret financial information to inform decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day thrift shop operations including opening, closing, cash handling and processes.
• Oversee donated goods flow from receiving to pricing, merchandising and sales to meet goals.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to manage donations and improve efficiency.
• Oversee POS, tagging and cash terminals; document issues and resolutions.
• Develop and monitor shop budgets and KPIs with the General Manager.
