General Purpose

The University of Guelph Hospitality team has been voted the #1 Food Service in Canada by Maclean’s magazine. Come work with a team of passionate chefs committed to serving quality dishes made from locally sourced ingredients to the University community.

Under direct supervision of the 1st or 2nd Cook, a 3rd Cook primarily works with fast food products.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure food is prepared, cooked properly, and served attractively
• Develop recipes and produce food that minimizes waste
• Maintain safe and sanitized equipment and work area
• Assist in food inventory and control
• Support kitchen operations and other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Grade 10 education plus some related experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Attaining or working towards the Red Seal designation is preferred.
• Willingness to work a flexible shift schedule.
• Regular schedule from September to April, subject to change based on operational needs.
