Job summary

Novolex in Brampton, Canada, is seeking a setup technician for thermoforming/plastics processing. You will independently perform basic machine setups on a single thermoforming platform and related equipment, ensuring quality and efficiency within timelines.

Responsibilities include training junior Setup Technicians, troubleshooting processes, supporting product qualification, and participating in projects to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize operations.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of mechanical and control functions of machines.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in thermoforming / plastics processing.
• Able to operate forklift, overhead crane and pallet jack.
• Proficiency with measuring instruments: Vernier caliper and micrometer.
• Strong knowledge of plastic moulds/molds.
• Strong communication in English (verbal and written).
• Able to work in a 12-hour continental shift with bi-monthly rotation.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform basic troubleshooting and machine setups on a thermoforming platform and associated equipment with quality and efficiency.
• Train lower-level Setup Technicians on basic setup tasks.
• Perform process troubleshooting of thermoforming machines and related systems.
• Perform product qualification to meet quality standards.
• Participate in projects to improve production efficiency, cycle time, waste reduction and optimization.
• Support sample making activities.
