Villa Caritas, a Covenant Health facility, is seeking a Therapy Assistant to support the delivery of therapeutic rehabilitation programs. The role includes participation in assessments and planning client programs, with opportunities to lead individual or group treatment and educational interventions, within an HSAA collective agreement framework.

Villa Caritas is an acute inpatient geriatric psychiatry hospital. This 150-bed hospital serves individuals living with dementia of all stages; other psychiatric illness such as depression, anxiety, mood and thought disorders; complex psychosocial needs and other medical comorbidities. Its programs promote a patient-centered approach and include a variety of individual and group programs that focus on optimizing functioning, independence and quality of life. The comprehensive multidisciplinary team works together to treat the whole person: body, mind and soul.
The Therapy Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of therapeutic rehabilitation programs. The Therapy Assistant participates in assessment related activities as well as the planning and development of client programs which includes leading individual or group treatment and educational interventions.This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.
A directly related diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
Additional Required QualificationsAs Required.
Preferred QualificationsExperience working in acute care. Experience working with the geriatric mental health population.
