Job summary

The Citadel Theatre in Edmonton seeks a dynamic Producer to oversee artistic contracts, budgets, and partnerships, reporting to the Artistic Director. You will negotiate rights, manage co-productions, and build community ties to animate stages with local talent.

Required are 8 years of theatre admin leadership, strong contract and budget skills, and a commitment to equity and inclusion. Flexible evenings and weekends essential for this year-round, full-time role.

Qualifications

• Experience with contract negotiation, execution, and compliance.
• Budget creation and management for projects from $5K to $1M.
• Ability to manage budgets across small, medium and large-scale productions.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and access.
• Exceptional communication, attention to detail, organization, and proactive problem-solving.
• Ability to build and foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage literary and production rights including contracts, licenses, compliance, commissions, and payments.
• Negotiate, budget, and create contracts for co-productions and manage undertakings, payments, reporting and reconciliations.
• Collaborate on production budget creation and oversight.
• Contract artists including Actors, Directors, Fight Directors, Choreographers, Music Directors.
• Liaise with other departments to support hosting and engagement of artists while on contract.
• Act as Company Management support for artists and coordinate Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion initiatives.
