Job summary

Compass Group Canada is seeking support staff to assist waitstaff by delivering orders to tables, bussing tables, and maintaining service areas in a fast-paced Edmonton environment.

You will work evenings, weekends and holidays, with opportunities for learning and career progression. A Pro Serve certificate is preferred, along with strong communication and the ability to multitask in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

  • Interest in the hospitality industry; entry-level experience not mandatory but asset.
  • Flexible availability; evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must have a valid Pro Serve Certificate or willing to obtain.
  • Excellent communication skills in person.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver orders to tables and assist waitstaff.
  • Buss tables and tidy service areas.
  • Maintain efficient flow of orders from kitchen to guests.
  • Transfer information between kitchen and staff for guest requests.
  • Assist in final preparation of dishes as needed.
  • Restock service areas with supplies and condiments.
  • Display ability to work under pressure and multitask.

Job description

Support staff are responsible for assisting waitstaff by delivering orders to tables, bussing tables, and other duties to support the smooth operation of their designated area.


Duties And Responsibilities


  • Ensuring the efficient flow of orders from the kitchen and bar to the guests.

  • Assisting in the final preparation of dishes.

  • Deliver orders to maintain fast service.

  • Transfer essential information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g., when a customer has a particular request)

  • Tidy up tables, counters, and other service areas.

  • Restock the service areas with straws, coasters, napkins, and condiments.

  • Prepare juices and cocktail garnishes.

  • Assists service staff as needed.

  • Display the ability to work in high pressure situations and handle multiple tasks.

  • Adhere to uniform standards and job specific standard operation procedures.


Qualifications, Skills And Abilities


  • Interest in the hospitality industry; previous entry-level experience in a bar or restaurant is not mandatory but will be considered an asset.

  • Flexible availability; evenings, weekends and holidays.

  • Must have a valid Pro Serve Certificate or willing to obtain.

  • Excellent communication skills via in person.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
