What Is The Opportunity

Aecon is seeking a Testing & Commissioning (T&C) Manager for the Urban Transportation Solutions group to support future transit projects in Canada. We aim to improve travel convenience and experience by building the best team!

What You Will Do Here:

• Plan, prepare, and execute Testing and Commissioning programs.
• Support management of Testing and Commissioning activities.
• Coordinate testing plans, procedures, and site access.
• Build and support the Testing and Commissioning team.
• Oversee inspection and testing of rail transit systems, including automation, telecommunications, SCADA, power, and system integration.
• Plan asset handover processes from construction to testing.
• Ensure compliance, approval, and acceptance processes are followed.
• Ensure all tests meet project requirements and standards.
• Produce status reports and maintain testing logs.
• Verify full coverage of functional and safety requirements through testing.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and project teams.
• Review and approve traceability matrices.
• Incorporate safety into all testing activities.
• Develop performance metrics and continuous improvement processes.
• Promote an inclusive culture and foster a sense of belonging.

What You Will Bring to The Team:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in testing and commissioning of rail transit systems.
• Professional engineer license.
• Knowledge of industry standards, safety certification, and project management.
• Experience with complex rail projects and joint ventures.
• Familiarity with systems engineering standards (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288) and safety standards (CENELEC 50126).
• Experience in developing testing plans for automation, telecommunications, SCADA, and power systems.
• Ability to collaborate with requirements management and safety teams.
• Experience in developing system-wide commissioning plans and test certificates.
• Understanding of construction, engineering, and project interdependencies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and requirements management tools like DOORS.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
