Job summary

Norsat International is seeking a Test Technician to support transitioning new products into production, collaborating with Engineering and Production to resolve technical challenges and drive continuous improvements. You will introduce new designs into manufacturing, refine procedures for accuracy, and perform first article inspections while coordinating ECOs and design updates for approvals.

This hands-on role emphasizes LEAN processes and RF understanding, based on a strong electronics

Qualifications

  • Diploma/degree in electronics or electrical technology required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant role.
  • Knowledge of production documentation and mechanical/electrical assemblies.
  • Knowledge of electrical components and ESD control.
  • Experience with detailed assembly and integration procedures.
  • Understanding of RF communication principles.
  • Familiarity with production systems including MRP, ECOs, inventory transactions, and LEAN manufacturing.
  • Fluent in MS Office applications.
  • LabView experience is an asset.
  • Technical training in mechanics and computer applications is an asset.

Job description

As a Test Technician, you will support the transition of newly developed products into production while ensuring efficient and reliable manufacturing processes. This position collaborates closely with both Engineering and Production teams to resolve technical challenges and implement continuous improvements.

What You'll Do:
  • Support the introduction of new product designs into manufacturing operations

  • Partner with Production Technicians to diagnose and resolve component or assembly issues

  • Contribute to additional operational or engineering tasks as required
What You'll Bring:
  • Diploma/Degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology Program
