Job summary

Woodward, Inc. is seeking a Test Technician to calibrate and test electronic assemblies, perform QA reports, and support testing in an industrial setting on a 3 weeks days/2 weeks nights shift.

The role requires accuracy with QA records, testing equipment maintenance, and collaboration with engineering. Qualifications include a high school diploma and post-secondary training in Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist or equivalent, plus experience with test equipment and data recording.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Purpose:

Test Technician reports to the Team Lead Electrical/Electronics Technician Mfg and is responsible for calibrating and testing electronic assemblies, maintaining and validating test samples and generating quality assurance reports in an industrial setting. The position works under some supervision, uses limited troubleshooting and problem solving, and limited contact with external suppliers or customers.

Essential Functions:

• Mount units on stands, and test and calibrate units and components, including flow and/or pressure testing of assembly components as per work instructions.

• Complete all required paperwork in an accurate and efficient manner including Quality Assurance and Test Record (QAATR) reports.

• Conduct particle count/gravimetric testing of control fuel samples.

• Obtain all certifications necessary for required processes, follow all engineering Analytical Report instructions and Work Instructions and generate or complete Quality Assurance Assembly Test Record reports or Quality Assurance Nonconformance Reports (quality reports).

• Operate precision testing equipment designed to simulate actual operating conditions for units and components.

• Perform final testing of units and record applicable data as required.

• Pick and/or stock parts and place completed parts, upon completion of As-Received Testing Units, on the shelf for assembly.

Other Essential Functions:

• Clean parts and be compliant with all area housekeeping efforts.

• Communicate information to others about project status, updates, specific instructions, etc.

• Maintain and validate testing equipment to ensure it is kept in operating condition.

• Perform “as received” testing per work instructions.

• Perform basic to intermediate troubleshooting and diagnosis of control problems.

• Promote teamwork within the organization.

• Work with engineering to improve processes and solve problems.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of test equipment.

• The ability to write effectively, to read and understand work documents and to communicate information clearly to coworkers and supervisors, and the ability to listen attentively and comprehend key pieces of spoken information.

• The ability to use computer and web-based systems to input, access, modify, or output information.

• General knowledge of machines and equipment functionality, and how tools could be used on such equipment/machines. This includes the ability to learn new systems quickly, understanding how parts relate, and how they impact system functionality. The position also requires manual dexterity or the ability to work quickly with hands.

• The ability and willingness to demonstrate eagerness, enthusiasm, and optimism for work activities. This includes the ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities, to learn and understand company policies and procedures.

• The ability to interact cooperatively and collaboratively with others as a team.

Education:

• US – High School Diploma

• CAN - Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technician/Technologist or equivalent.
