Job summary

CoolIT Systems, Inc. is seeking a Test Specialist (Mechanical/PCL) to lead testing and qualification activities for passive cooling systems and manifolds.

You will develop test plans, analyze hardware and software specs, and report results to support engineering improvements and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years engineering experience in a testing environment.
• Experience with SolidWorks 3D modeling and DFMr.
• Familiarity with instrumentation: pressure transducers, temp sensors, flow sensors.
• Experience setting up and using DAQs, sensors, actuators for data-driven analysis.
• Experience using diagnostic bench tools (oscilloscope, power analyzer, logic analyzer, multimeter).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement validation and qualification test plans for thermal and fluid-cooling systems.
• Apply heat transfer and thermodynamics to interpret thermal tests.
• Develop comprehensive test strategies and procedures from requirements.
• Design validation protocols including HALT, thermal, pressure, mechanical and packaging tests.
• Investigate failure modes and perform root-cause analyses.
• Prepare technical reports and validation documentation for release.
• Analyze test data and recommend design improvements.
• Coordinate cross-functional corrective actions.

CoolIT Systems, Inc. is hiring a full-timeTest Specialist (Mechanical/PCL)to lead passive cold plate loop and vertical rack manifold testing and qualification activities. In this role, you will develop and execute test plans to verify productsmeetinternal and customer requirements. You will analyze hardware and software specifications, design test strategies, and evaluate the performance and reliability of electromechanical systems. Responsibilities include conducting temperature, pressure, flow, and mechanical stress tests,identifyingdesign issues, troubleshooting failures through root cause analysis, and supporting engineering improvements. You will alsoassistwith test equipment development,componentselection, technical documentation, and detailed reporting of test results and recommendations.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and implementNPIproduct validation and qualification test plansfor thermal and fluid-cooling systems, focusing on cold plates, manifolds, seals, and electromechanical assemblies.
• Apply heat transferand thermodynamicsprinciples and knowledge to interpret thermal tests for liquid-cooled components.
• Understand hardware and software requirements and design documents to develop comprehensive test strategies and procedures.
• Design and evaluate validation protocols, includingHALT, thermal, pressure, mechanical, flow (PQ), thermal performance (RQ), and packaging integrity testing.
• Investigate failure modes including fatigue, corrosion, creep, thermal cycle degradation,and manufacturing defects.
• Perform risk assessmentsbased onbill of material, designreviews,manufacturingprocessesand other available engineering documents toqualifyproducts.
• Conduct materialcompatibilityevaluations on metals, elastomers, polymers, fittings, and surface-finished components.
• Prepare technical reports and validation documentation to support engineering release and customer approval.
• Analyze test data tovalidatedesign performance and recommend design improvements to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
• Conduct root cause analysis of test failures and coordinate cross-functional corrective actions.
• Exercise engineering judgment in technical dispositionanddecisions in collaboration withcross functional teams.
• Provide technical guidanceandtrainingto technicians and technologists.
• Maintain test logs, records, and reports in alignment with internal processes.
• Ensure compliance with all lab safety requirements and best practices.

WHO YOU ARE:

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, orotherrelevant field.
• Proven experience insolidworksdesign, including 3D modeling, detailed drawings, assembly design, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• A minimum of 3 years ofengineering experience in a testing environment.
• Working knowledge of instrumentation including pressure transducers, temperatures sensors, flow sensors, etc.
• Solid experience in setting up and using DAQ's, sensors, and actuators for data-driven analysis.
• Experience in using diagnostic bench tools (oscilloscope, power analyzer, logic analyzer, multimeter, etc.).
• Demonstrated experience in analyzing, testing, and qualifying electro-mechanical parts and systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree is considered an asset.
• P.Engdesignation considered an asset.
• Experience with data center liquid cooling systems.
• Familiarity with rack-level cooling infrastructure such as manifolds, hoses, quick disconnects, and fittings.
