Position Summary

The Test Engineer will Design, Troubleshoot and Execute tests to ensure that custom parts and machines meet functional, safety, and regulatory standards. This role involves collaborating with Engineering, R&D and Operation/Production teams to identify testing requirements and methodologies.

Essential Functions

1. Design and develop test plans, procedures, and specifications for new products.
2. Perform testing of mechanical, electrical, and software components to verify product functionality and compliance with specifications.
3. Analyze test results, prepare reports, and make recommendations for product improvements.
4. Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve testing issues and refine product designs.
5. Work with Assembly team to resolve issues involving assembly, WO, Parts.
6. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements during testing.
7. Ability to read and translate engineering drawing.
8. Standardize and optimize the FAT process.
9. Troubleshoot and setup machine for internal testing or Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
10. Generate and Review Engineering and/or Test related documentation.
11. Write purchase request for tools, parts, devices required for assembly team.
12. Fill out machine testing documents and maintain records.
13. Ensures that all projects are accurately documented in timely fashion.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Strong knowledge of test engineering principles and methodologies.
2. Experience with testing systems, test equipment, and data analysis tools.
3. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
4. Familiarity with industry regulations and quality standards.
5. Strong communication and documentation skills.
6. Engineering Technician or Professional Engineer.
7. Ability to read engineering drawings (Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Mechanical, Electrical).
8. Understanding of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
9. Hands On.
10. Ability to utilize logic, along with Mechanical and Electrical experience to solve problems.
11. Ability to work and manage multiple projects.
12. Should be familiar with ERP and document vaulting programs.
13. Knowledge of Materials, Mechanisms, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
14. Great written and oral communication skills.
15. Must be a team player and have ability to work independently.
16. Basic understanding of PLC programming and Knowledge of C, C++ would be an asset.
17. Travel might be required.

EDUCATION

• Associates degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent engineering experience.

EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years of professional relevant experience.

COMPETENCIES

1. Ability to troubleshoot and setup machine to be ready for testing.
2. Ability to generate engineering documentation.
3. Ability to execute engineering change orders and manage related tasks.
4. Ability to utilize logic, along with mechanical experience to solve problems.
5. Ability to trouble shoot electrical control circuits 0-20mA, 0-10 VDC; configure instruments.
6. Ability to manage multiple projects.

Physical Environment and Environmental Factors

• Work in mix of standing, sitting, bending and in tight position.
