Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support quality engineering activities for web and mobile applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in test automation using Java, Rest Assured, Selenium, and Appium, with the ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks across API, web, and mobile platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API testing.
• Build and enhance automation frameworks using Java, Selenium, Appium, Rest Assured, and related testing tools.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end‑to‑end testing across application releases.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test coverage.
• Create and maintain test plans, test cases, test data, and traceability documentation.
• Identify, document, and track defects through resolution using standard defect management tools.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
• Analyze test execution results, troubleshoot automation failures, and provide clear quality reports to stakeholders.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong programming experience in Java for test automation development.
• Hands‑on experience with Selenium WebDriver for web application automation.
• Hands‑on experience with Appium for mobile automation testing across Android and iOS platforms.
• Experience with Rest Assured for API automation and validation of RESTful services.
• Good understanding of test automation frameworks such as TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, BDD, or similar tools.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git and build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms.
• Basic understanding of SQL and database validation is preferred.

• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments and participating in sprint ceremonies.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in banking, financial services, or enterprise application testing is an asset.
• Experience with cloud‑based testing environments and containerized test execution is preferred.
• Exposure to performance, accessibility, or security testing concepts is an added advantage.

The expected compensation for this role ranges from CAD 77000 to CAD 120000 .
